Last year, I sang a Christmas song for you. This year is no different, except I have enlisted the help of a dear friend and very talented Nashville producer, Jason Garner. He did what he could with the raw materials – I mean Weird Al is not going to sound like Michael Bublé, but here goes…

Masks, gloves, and hand goo.

I won’t ask for much this Christmas,
Except a vaccine cold as snow, and I’m
Not content to keep on waiting,
I know it’s fast, but seems so slow.
There’s no sense in hanging steroids
There upon the IV pole.
Isn’t it about prevention?
For public health, yes that’s the goal.
I just want to work tonight
With a mask that’s not so tight.
Oh SARS-CoV-2,
You know that all I want is to be rid of you!

 

Christmas lights are shining
So brightly everywhere.
And they’ve been that way
Since fall was in the air.
And everyone is thinking –
If I can get those lights to blinking –
I might feel a lot less sad about the ones I really love
Being so far away from me.

 

I don’t want a lot for Christmas.
This is all I’m asking for –
No, I just want to see folks healthy –
And no more patients on death’s door!
I just want you in my arm,
Saving me from certain harm.

I want a vaccination – I want vaccination against you.
