These authors published a proof of concept for Quick Wee last year and have now done this RCT.  Use of the Quick Wee method (cold fluid on gauze applied to the suprapubic area) to stimulate cutaneous reflexes,  prompt infant urination, and obtain a clean catch urine specimen worked well.  31% vs 12% urinated within 5 minutes, NNT = 5.  Parents were also more satisfied than with “standard clean catch.”
